Mrs. Barbara Ann Merrell

Mrs. Barbara Ann Merrell, age 62, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her family. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Smith Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Tennille, Georgia. Minister Shanona Merrell-Settles will officiate.

She was born on February 23, 1958 to Martha Daniels and Floyd Farmer. She was raised by Lottie and Seven Coleman.

Mrs. Merrell's hobbies included fishing and singing with her family. She enjoyed singing with the Smith Grove Baptist Church Choir and the Holly Spring Baptist Church Adult Choir. She was a member of Holly Spring Baptist Church where she served as the President of the Missionary Board and also fellowshipped the Smith Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Merrell was very active with the Women's Auxiliary of the Second Washington Baptist Association.

Mrs. Barbara Ann Merrell was preceded in death by three sisters: Jacqulyn Coleman, Dorothy Jackson and Katrina Farmer; one brother: John Coleman; one son: Demetric Coleman and one grandson: RaShawn Merrell.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Stewart W. Merrell, Sr. of Tennille, GA; children: Darrell Fraley of Sandersville, GA, Leslie Davis of Cochran, GA, Stewart W Merrell, Jr. of East Dublin, GA, Anthony Merrell (LaShonda) of McDonough GA, Shanona Merrell-Settles (Allen) of Sandersville, GA, Stewart A Merrell of Stockton, CA, Iralanette Merrell-Cheely (Justin) of Harrison, GA, Brandon Merrell of Macon, GA, Brandy Merrell of Gordon, GA, Bryant Merrell (Martha) of Dublin, GA, Brittany Merrell of Dublin, GA, Breshonda Payne (Garrison) of Wrightsville, GA, Henry Davis of Gordon, GA, Branehia Merrell of Tennille, GA, Jemeisha Porter of Tennille, GA and Shondra Porter of Savannah, GA; 37 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sisters: Deloise Reese of Belle Glade, FL and Geraldine Archer of Miami, FL, Mary Ann Parker, Hollywood, FL; brothers: Arthur Farmer of Ft. Pierce, FL and Howard Coleman, Sr. (Barbara) of Ft. Pierce, FL; devoted caregiver: Tamika Heggs; devoted friends: Georgetta Snell (Ms. Tootie), Victoria Frazier (Ms. Vickie), Joyce Blackshear, and Wanda Howard; devoted cousin: Dessie Underwood; devoted sister-in-law: Gussie Kelsey; host of other relatives and friends.

Family is receiving friends at the residence, 13411 Hwy 68S, Tennille, Georgia up until 7 p.m. each night.
