James Wright, age 78, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2019 with his family by his side at Serenity Hospice in Dublin, Georgia. Four years ago on this very same day, he lost his dear and loving mother, Julia Pierce Wright. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 12 noonn at Buckeye Baptist Church in East Dubin, Georgia with interment in Mt. Pleasant AME Church cemetery in Johnson County. Rev. David Flowers will officiate.
James was born July 15, 1940 in Wrightsville, Georgia to the late Leroy and Julia Pierce Wright. James was dedicated and worked hard. For many years, he worked with the Wrightsville Lumber Company and later began working for the County here in Wrightsville, Georgia until his health declined.
James was proceeded in death by his wife, Ilver V. Wright; his parents; paternal grandparents, George and Ada Wright; maternal grandparents, Edmond and Ollie Pierce; two children: Machelle Wright and Phillip Pullen; two brothers: Bennie Wright and Roy Lee Wright and one sister: Lucille Hicks.
James leaves to cherish his loving memories to his children, four sons: Kenneth Wright of Savannah, GA, James Lee (Sonya) Horne, William Horne both of Wrightsville, GA, Dwight (Elizabeth) Pullen of Dublin, GA; four daughters: Valerie Pullen, Phyllis Russell, Mary Lee (John) Horne all of Wrightsville, GA and Mary Ann (Mike) Worthen of Lake Wales, FL; one stepson, Alvin Wright of Dublin, GA; one stepdaughter, Tracey Wright of Dublin, GA; two sisters: Jeannette Thomas who was a devoted caregiver and Julia Pearl (Charlie) Robinson both of Wrightsville, GA; three brothers: Sam (Retha) Wright of Dublin, GA, William (Brenda) Wright of Lexington, KY and Jimmy (Betty) Wright of Locust Grove, GA; four sisters-in-law: Karen Smith, Therlon (Johnnie) May, Evelyn (Lambert) Snell all of Dublin, GA, Lonnie Bell Wright of Meridan, CT; two brothers-in-law: Wayne Paul Wright of Wrightsville, GA and Lee L. Hicks of Chicago, IL; three uncles: Willie Wright and Leroy Pierce both of Sandersville, GA and Kaiser (Carol) Pierce of Tampa, FL; one aunt: Audrey Wright of Sandersville, GA; a devoted niece and caregiver Joann Thomas; 23 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, 26 step grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
