Antonio was taken away from us way to soon, but not soon enough for our father; as he is now celebrating his eternal life with his first love, his mother, Frances Mae Purvey Wadley and other loved ones.
Antonio Tyrone Purvey (best known as “Purvey”) was born in Augusta Georgia, November 17, 1977 to the parents of the late Frances Mae Purvey and surviving father, Kendrick Earl Dawson both of Tennille, GA.
His early education began in the public schools of Washington County. He was a member of the graduating class of 1997 from Washington County High School. Most of his life was spent in the county in which he lived, worked, and served in the community.
Antonio was the true definition of an epitome of a man. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He transformed every cloudy day turn into a burst of sunshine when he entered a room, never meeting a stranger. For those that encountered Antonio, you know that he loved his family. He was a passionate leader and mentor to his siblings after the death of their beloved mother. He was blessed with his own children; teaching them the true meaning of unconditional love, fullfilled life, family connectedness, and making an impact on the world with any and everything that they do. He would always say, “I may not have much, but I bet my children won’t want for nothing.” He always made a way. Outside of his family, Antonio also enjoyed coaching recreational sports, socializing with friends, shutting down a card game, and he did all of that and more with a smile on his face displaying his notably shiny gold tooth. It was very rare to see him without a smile. He was an inspiration to all and touched many lives. Antonio was a loving, kind-hearted, devoted and caring father, brother, cousin, uncle, and friend. He gained the respect of many people from here, there, and everywhere. Antonio was a man of great character, and it was displayed in the many roles throughout his personal life and professional career. Before his departure, Antonio’s exceptional work performance led to his promotion to Cable Operator, Shift-Leader at Dura-line Incorporated based out of Tennille, Georgia. He will be truly missed and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of his loved ones, family, and friends.
Antonio’s memory will forever be cherished and he is survived by: his wife of many years, April Adams (Tennille, Ga.); his father, Kendrick Dawson (Athens, GA.); three children, Martavious Adams, Jordan Adams, and Tyler Purvey (Tennille, Ga.); two phenomenal grandparents Guss (Lizzie Mae) Purvey (Tennille, Ga.); one sister, Shawna (Tony) Parker (Springfield, VA); one brother, Demetrius Wadley (Tennille, Ga..); devoted cousin, affectionately called sister Sakeitha (Marquez) Little (Tennille, GA; three uncles, James Davis, Joseph (Juanita) Purvey, Thomas Purvey all from Tennille, Ga.; two aunts, Margaret (Willie) Bailey and Pamela Burden both of Dublin, Ga); three nephews, Demareon Wadley (Tennille, Ga.)
