Mrs. Leonora Lane Carter

Mrs. Leonora Lane Carter peacefully ascended to her heavenly home on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at her residence in Tennille, Georgia. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Clara-Minnie Memorial Chapel at L.M. Pierce Funeral Home.

Leonora was born September 15, 1959 to the late Joseph Willie Lane, Sr. and Victoria Jones Lane. After the passing of dearest Victoria, she was blessed to be loved by her second mother Vernice Walker Lane.

Affectionately known as "Nora", she held Associate Degrees in Business Management and Computer Programming from Atlanta Junior College and Clayton State College. She was a graduate of Washington County High School in Sandersville, Georgia. Leonora was multi-talented and skilled in computer science, certified as a long haul truck driver, and an avid reader. However, her passion was studying and teaching the word of God.

Leonora was a devout follower of Jesus' teachings and knew that her true ministry was encouraging others and spreading the Love of Jesus Christ. She was a faithful member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church where she served in the choir, LIFT Women's Ministry, the Usher board, and taught Sunday School.

Cherishing her memories are four sisters and brothers: Patricia A. Lane, Joseph W. Lane, Jr., Ursula S. Lane and Percy V. Lane; loving nieces and nephews: Vickie S.D. Lane, Shana D.S. Lane, LaTasha Lane Davis, and Jurell D.R. Lane; a dear grandmother Mrs. Daisy M. Walker; a host of aunts, uncles, great nieces and great nephews, cousins and many devoted friends. She was preceded in death by a beloved sister, Betty Lane.

Leonora's memorable smile, love and zeal for life will be eternally cherished by all.
