Mr. Willie Hill Collier

Mr. Willie Hill Collier entered eternal rest on Friday, June 22, 2018 in Augusta, Georgia. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 12 Noon at Second Darien Baptist Church in Hancock County. Interment will be on Monday, July 2, 2018 at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, Georgia.

Willie Hill Collier was born June 4, 1949 to the parentage of Walter and Ida Bell Collier.

Willie’s early education was in the Hancock County School system. In 1968, he graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Brooklyn, New York. He went on to attend New York City Community College.

On February 11, 2000, Willie married the love his life, Rener Hall Haynes. They resided in Brooklyn, New York, until relocating to Sandersville, Georgia to settle into retirement. Willie fully retired in 2004 after more than 35 years of government service with the Air Force, Army Reserves, IRS and the US Postal Service. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, dancing and gathering with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, his mother and his sister, Thelma Utsey.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 18 years, Rener Collier; a son, Jermaine Collier, 2 grandsons, Jermaine Collier, Jr. and Quamaine; a step-son, Cornelius Haynes; a step-daughter, Audrey Haynes, 2 bonus grandchildren, Kwani Haynes and Jhane Haynes. He is also survived by a sister, Betty Collier; a brother, Mendoza Collier; 4 neices – Tahmillah Collier, Nequassa Robertson (Leroy Robertson), Ida Marguerita Drew and Angela Utsey; 3 nephews, Douglas Utsey (Kim), Phillip Anthony Collier and Tahee Frank; 3 aunts – Jenny Lundy, Christine Collier, Willie Mae Monroe and a host of other relatives and friends.
