Mrs. Minnie Danzy

Minnie Danzy, age 69, entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 3, 2017 at the Extended Care Facility of Washington County Regional Medical Center in Sandersville, Georgia. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 2 p.m. at St. Galilee Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Manzie T. Broxton Sr. officiating.  


 She was born September 22, 1947 to the late James Duggan, Jr. and Daisy Duggan Perry.  Minnie attended school in Washington County.   She was employed with Rite-Aid as a Pharmacy Technician for several years in New Jersey.  After retirement, she relocated back to Sandersville, Georgia to be close to her family.  She joined Bold Baptist Church at an early

age but after returning home, she joined St. Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. 


Minnie was preceded in death by her father James Duggan, Jr, a brother Nathaniel Harden, a sister Susie Kate Hooks, her husband James Danzy and significant other W.E. Ivey.


Minnie is survived by her mother Daisy Duggan Perry of Sandersville, GA; two daughters, Darlene (Michael) Taylor of Atlanta, GA and Sabrina Danzy of Sandersville, GA; four sons:  Daren Danzy of  Maryland, Darren (Twanna) Ivey of Tennessee, Patrick Ivey of Atlanta, GA, Keenan (Tameka) Ivey of New Jersey; two sisters:  Willie Mae (Moses) Thompson of Jacksonville, FL and Sara (Frank) Simmons of Sandersville, GA; two brothers:  Willie James (Geraldine) Harden of Jacksonville, FL and James (Mary Alice) Duggan of Sandersville, GA; one aunt:  Erma Houston of Macon, GA; four brothers-in-law: C.W. Danzy and Milton Danzy of Michigan, Rufus (Kim) Danzy of Philadelphia and Carlton (Rose) Danzy of Sandersville, GA; 17 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, friends, devoted friends Joe Morris, Mildred Blackmon, Catherine Andrews , and Marie Harris Sandersville, GA, Mary Bethea of Philadelphia, Amvets/Auxiliary Post 110.   She is also survived by her god sisters and brothers :  Hazel Nwous, Travis Harden, Keithe Harden, David Harden, Sandy Harden and Carol Harden of Connecticut.
