On the evening of Tuesday, August 9, 2016, the Angel of Silence came into the Extended Caae Facility in Sandersville and with chilly fingers sealed the lips of Mrs. Ophelia F. Brown of Sandersville, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Robin Springs Baptist Church with interment in the Church's cemetery. Rev. Lester Woods will officiate.
She was born on July 21, 1916 to the parents of Robert and Gussie Fluellen. She attended the Green Grove Church School of Washington County. She was a member of the Robin Springs Baptist Church where she served faithfully until the failing of her health.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Lola Mae Brown Parker of Sandersville, Georgia.
Mrs. Brown leaves to mourn one daughter, Marjorie Nell Jones, of Sandersville, GA; four extended daughters, Miss Pricilla Yancy, Mrs. Lucille Mullard, and Miss Shirley Reid all of Geneva, N.Y.; and Mrs. Elizabeth Knight of Rochester, N.Y.; 14 devoted grandchildren including one granddaughter, Cherly (Alan) Bordeaux of Piscataway, N.J.; four grandsons, Leonard Brown and Willie Lee (Betty) Brown of Sandersville, GA, Calvin Hunter, Lawrenceville, GA, and Anthony Hunter of Rotor, Spain; 30 great grandchildren; one aunt, Mrs. Mary Dixon of Sandersville, GA; devoted family members, The Gardners, Cynthia Dixon, Henry Watts, Bobbie Evans, and Evelyn Fife several neices nephews, other relatives and friends.
