Mr. Willie Robinson Obituary

Mr. Willie Lee Robinson, Jr. departed this life on Sunday, May 24, 2015 after an extended illness at the University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. Funeral services held on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 2 p.m., Harrison Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Terrance Pullen officiating.  Interment will be in the Harrison City Cemetery.  

 

He was born March 15, 1940 in Washington County to the parentage of the late Mr. Willie Lee Robinson, Sr.  and the late Mrs. Willie Mae White. 

 

At an early age, he joined Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Wrightsville, Georgia and later in life attended M.C. Memorial Church in Wrightsville, Georgia.  Mr. Robinson attended the public schools of Johnson County.  Mr. Robinson was united in holy matrimony to the late Lucille Braddy on April 8, 1961. 

 

Mr. Robinson began working at the early age of 15 for W.F. Jackson in the mines as a heavy equipment worker.  He later began working for C.T. Harris for 15 years and went back to work for W.F. Jackson for a total of 30 years.  He had to leave work due to his declining health.  Mr. Robinson served his community as a volunteer firefighter and was also a member of Elisha Masonic Lodge #194 in Harrison, Georgia.  Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by three siblings:  Arlene Robinson, Freddie Robinson, and Allene Williams.

 

Mr. Robinson leaves to cherish his memories four daughters,  Agnes Stephens of Harrison, GA, Sheryl Mack (Herbert) of Tennille, GA, Angela (Tony) Andrews of Tennille, GA, and Arnita Williamson of Cordele, GA; one son, Darcey (Ruby) Robinson of Harrison, GA; five brothers,  Frank (Edith) Robinson, Johnny B. (Shirley) Robinson, Gene (Benita) Robinson, Danny Robinson – all of Jacksonville, FL and James (Linda) Robinson of Jonesboro, GA; two sisters, Rosie Spears and Virginia Robinson both of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters-in-laws,  Ruby (Carnell) Curtis of Dover, DE and Juanita (James) Boyd of Wichita Fall, TX; six brothers-in-law, Elize (Laura) Braddy of Killeen of TX, William (Mary) Braddy, James (Pearl) Braddy, Sander (Jean) Braddy, Sanford (Kathleen) Braddy, and Robert Braddy – all of Harrison, GA; seventeen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; devoted friends, Isadore and Emma Mack of Sandersville, GA, host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.  

 

Visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday, May 30, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
