Mr. Leroy Pierce, Sr.

November 22, 2020 Mr. Leroy Pierce, Sr. departed this life on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at his residence. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Green Grove Baptist Church cemetery. Rev. Harold Simmons will officiate. Mr. Leroy Pierce, Sr. was born on June 21, 1926, to the late Edmond and Ollie (Samuel) Pierce in Oconee, Georgia. He was the youngest child of tenchildren. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and telling them jokes to make them laugh. He worked for Howard Shephard for over forty years as a transfer truck driver and trainer until retirement. He met and married the late Detta Bellmon Pierce and to this union five children were born. He was preceded in death by his wife, Detta Pierce; daughter, Loraine Pierce; granddaughter, Quintara Hood; grandson, Alex Pierce, brothers: David (Lillie Ruth) Pierce, Bennie (Alberta) Pierce, D.K. (Corean) Pierce, Sammy Pierce, Theodore (Mary) Pierce, and Robert Pierce; sisters: Dora (William) Carter, Lonnie Mae (Prince) Walker, Eula Mae (Ulysses) Smith, Addie (Doc) Merrell, Elisa Pierce, Annie Mae (Sam) Dennis, and Julia Wright. His memories will be forever cherished by his daughter, Susie (Calvin) Tucker of Sandersville, GA; three sons, Leroy Pierce, Jr., Jonathan (Gloristine) Pierce both of Sandersville, GA andKimber (Stacy) Pierce of Milledgeville, GA; one brother, Kaiser (Carol) Pierce of Tampa, FL; three brothers-in-law, Willie Frank Bellmon, Leo Flournoy, Sr., and Russell Lee Hunter; seventeengrandchildren, Rodriquez (Sabrina) Pierce, Travis (Pamela) Pierce, Shanequa Pierce, Jhanequa Pierce, Travia Tucker, Calvin (Angel) Tucker, Jr., Shakeyra Pierce, Subria Reaves, Adrianna Reaves, Dennis Pierce, Karon Lester, Keyonis Jacobs, Shaquana Pierce,Dartrell Pierce, Ashley Lynn, Jameria Lynn and Molly Hill; 24 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends, including Lucinda Jackson, Janice Pierce, Kanesha Jordan, Mr. Leroy Flournoy, Sr. and Elaine Henderson.
