Derek R. Walker of Augusta, Georgia , formerly of Tennille, Georgia affectionately known as Spade, Sky Walker, and D-Walk, departed this life on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at Augusta University Medical Center, Augusta, Ga. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Swint Spring Baptist Church in Tennille, Georgia with interment in The Walker Family Cemetery. Rev. Eric Murray will officiate and Rev. Rufus Copeland will deliver the eulogy. Derek was born February 1, 1979 to the parentage of Minister Floyd & Jackie Walker. Derek was formally educated in the Washington County Public School System. He was employed through various companies as a truck driver. He was a former professional, competitive boxer, health & fitness fanatic and avid sports fan. The Atlanta Falcons was his favorite team. Derek loved spending time with his family & friends, listening to gospel music, playing video games, and traveling. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Swint Spring Missionary Baptist Church of Tennille, Ga. He was also affiliated with New Gardener Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Augusta, Ga and Dixon Grove COGIC, Tennille, Ga. Derek leaves to cherish his memories two children: Brandon Elijah Jenkins, Macon, Ga, Ramoni Montana Walker, Augusta, Ga; parents: Minister Floyd & Jackie Walker, Tennille Ga; brothers: Frederick Marqui Walker Sr. & Rodney Kristophus (Sheila) Walker, Tennille, Ga; uncles: Prince (Daisy) Walker, Jr., Huttie (Mary) Swint, Jr., Tennille, Ga, Ronald Raye, Covington, Ga, Elder Jefferson Lockett, Sr., Macon, Ga; aunt: Eveline (Willie Robert) Darrisaw; nieces: Kanesha, Sharonda, Felexia, Faithia, Shakara, Takara; nephews: Rodney, James Jr., Frederick Jr.; great-nephews: Kaiden & Khristian; devoted friends: Tiffany Proctor, Walker Maze, Matthew & Tarita Williams, Sue Heath, Coach Tony Sadler, and Coach Marciano Diaz and the Marci's Boxing Gym Family; devoted cousin, Rameeka Askew; a host of other relatives and friends.
