Mr. Melvin Rogers affectionately known as “Baldie” departed this life on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at his residence. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2022 from the Union Hill Baptist Church cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Jerry Walden will officiate.
Melvin Rogers was born on May 18, 1990 to the parentage of Mr. James Edward Rogers and Ms. Mary Ann Carswell.
He attended the public school system of Washington County. Melvin was a friendly, young man, who loved giving a helping hand to all who needed him. He loved spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Ms. Lena Bell Carswell and his paternal grandparents: Mr. Johnny Rogers, Sr. and Ms. Daisy Rogers, an uncle, Mr. Wayne Rogers.
Melvin leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Ms. Mary Ann Carswell of Sandersville, GA; father, Mr. James (Christine) Edward Rogers of Tennille, GA; two brothers: James Rogers, Jr. of Sandersville, GA and Javen Rogers of Harrison, GA; one sister: Shanice Brooks of Tennille, GA; eight aunts: Pat Darrisaw, Ann Marie Rogers, Nicole Hill, Shirley Roberson all of Tennille, GA, Annie (Eddie) Moye of Harrison, GA; Ruby (Austell) Arline of Wrightsville, GA, Neomia Sanders of Macon, GA, Alfonzy Dixon of Tennille, GA; nine uncles: Johnny (Pearl) Rogers, Casey (Sue) Rogers, Andy Rogers of Tennille, GA, Tommy (Sheryl) Carswell of Sandersville, GA, Melvin Carswell of Tennille, GA, Marion (Step) Carswell of Wrightsville, GA, Arther Lee Dixon of Sandersville, GA, Willie Dixon of Augusta, GA, McKendrell Carswell of Sandersville, GA; a devoted friend Kasandra Roberson; three great aunts: Ms. Lizzie Purvey, Ms. Ola Wiggins of Tennille, GA and Ms. Katrina Rice of Detroit, Michigan; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
