Lonnie Thomas, Jr..

Mr. Lonnie Thomas, Jr. of East Dublin, departed this life on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Fairview Park  Hospital.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 1 p.m. at the Jordan Grove Center, located at 1330 Highway 319, East Dublin, Georgia with interment at the Mt. Pullen A.M.E. Church Cemetery.  

Lonnie was born December 24, 1939 to the late Lonnie Thomas, Sr. and Mattie Bell Thomas.  He was known by his quiet demeanor and kind spirit.  He was also known by many as simply “Bo”.  Although he was a barber by trade, he retired after many years from Mohawk Carpets, Inc.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie & Mattie Bell Thomas;  one brother, Willie Thomas; brother-in-law, Alexander Caine and great grand-daughter, Chloe McCroery.

He was not a man of many words but if he knew you, you knew that he loved you.  His touch alone was felt so deeply.

Left to cherish his memories is his wife, Mary Lee Thomas of 60 years; two sons: Gerald (Janice) Thomas, Lonnie L. (Arlene) Thomas and one daughter, Cynthia Scarlett; one brother, James (Charsena) Thomas of Elm City, North Carolina; three sisters:  Minnie (Lorenzo) Stubbs of Lauderhill, Florida; Martha Caine of Norfolk, Virginia, Patricia (Wilbert) Roberts of Waynesboro, Georgia; sister-in-law, Carol Thomas of New Port News,  Virginia; brothers-in-law:  Clyde (Warnette) Taylor of Wrightsville, GA and Willie (Sadie) Taylor of Baltimore, Maryland;  9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  He will be greatly missed by all. 

The body will be placed at Jordan Grove Center for public viewing on Saturday, June 11, 2022 from 12 noon until time of service.  There is NO viewing at the funeral home.
