John Chavis Poole

On Sunday, March 3, 2024, Mr. John C. Poole of Augusta, Georgia passed away at his residence.   Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 12 noon at Bold Spring Baptist Church, 3177 Poole Road, Sandersville, Georgia with interment in the church cemetery.  Rev. Ceasar Johnson will officiate.  

Mr. Poole was born April 7, 1941 to the late Mrs. Mary Lillian Poole Haynes and the late Mr. Charlie “Gus” Haynes.  Mr. Poole attended public schools in Washington County, Georgia.  Mr. Poole worked at Thermal Ceramics for over 40 years.  He loved being outside and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Mr. Poole leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Gladys Poole of Augusta, Georgia; children:  Anthony Poole, Wanda Poole, Linda Washington, Tysa Forston and Cedrick Gilbert; sisters:  Mary Haynes and Willie Mae Haynes of Sandersville, Georgia and Annie Pearl Haynes of Bristol, Philadelphia.

He also leaves to cherish his memories 14 grandchildren, two of whom he raised, Tyeshia Forston and Timothy Forston; 23 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including Debra Butler, a special friend.
