Ennis Poole

On Friday, April 9, 2021, he departed this life at the age of 90 at Brightmoor Hospice  in Griffin, Georgia.  Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Brownwood Cemetery.  Dr. Maurice Walden will officiate.  

Mr. Ennis Lee Poole, Sr. was born on October 30,  1936 to the late Mr. Leroy Poole, Sr. and Mrs. Eva Mae Poole. Mr. Poole attended Washington County Public Schools.  He was best known for whispering those down-home blues. 

On March 11, 1950, he married the late Christine H. Poole where they shared eleven children.  Mr. Poole was preceded in death  by two sons:  Ennis Poole, Jr. and Charles Poole; three brothers:  Lenzy Poole, Leroy Poole, Jr. and William Poole.  He was also preceded in death by one grandson Milton Brooker, Jr. and one  great granddaughter Miracle McCullum.   

He leaves to cherish his memories his children:  Dorothy P. Ward (Robert) of Atlanta, GA, Eugene Poole of Atlanta, GA, C.W. Poole of Rochester, NY, Dianne Souder (Willie) of Henry County, Ricky Poole of Sandersville, GA, Willie Poole (Trina) of Fayetteville, GA, Sarah Poole Bridges (Clinton) of Riverdale, GA, Eddie Poole of Covington, GA, Larry Poole (Cassandra) of Atlanta, GA; two sisters: Emma Reeves of Tennille, GA and Eloise Velez (Ramon) of Fayetteville, GA; brothers: Tommy Poole (Freda) of Sandersville, GA, Benny Poole (Grace) of New York, and Johnny Poole of Iowa.  Mr. Poole has over 80 grands, great grands and great-great grand; devoted cousin, Willie Fred Barnes, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

Visitation:  Monday, April 12, 2021 from 10 to 6 p.m.
