Desma LaShawn Dudley

Ms. Desma LaShawn Dudley, known as Shawn, departed this life on Monday, August 23, 2021 at Atrium Health Navicent Hospital, Macon, Georgia.   Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 2 p.m. on the grounds of Swint Sprint Baptist Church, Tennille, Georgia with interment in the Rest Haven Cemetery.  Rev. Eric Murray will officiate.  

She was born on January 27, 1972 in Queens, New York to the parentage of Mr. Edward Dudley and the late Mrs. Nina Lee Dudley.  She was predeceased in death by her god father Joseph Bell.

Desma attended New York City Schools graduating from Andrew Jackson High School in Queens, New York.  She attended Sandersville Technical College receiving a Certificate in Phlebotomy.  She attended the University of Phoenix receiving an Associate of Arts Degree. 

She was a member of Swint Spring Baptist Church, serving in the Dining Hall and the Choir.  She was self-employed.  She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. 

She leaves to cherish her memory her father Edward Dudley; one sister Erica Dudley; three children:  Octivia (Cleo) Shepherd; Jasper (Denesia) Williams and Tyler Williams; four grandchildren:  Josiah, Kayson, Cloe and Ke’Juan; nephew/brother:  Russell Dudley; niece:  Kaylin Dudley; her god mother:  June Bell; uncle:  Richard Swint of Orange City, FL; aunt:  Joan Swint of Tennille, GA; great nephew:  Jaylnn Bradley and great niece: Sidney Dudley; a devoted friend:  Sandra Jackman;  her cat – her fourth child Williams; honorary uncle;  Russell Frazier; a host of cousins and good friends from New York and Sandersville.
