Coney Braddy Obituary

Mr. Coney James Braddy of Pooler, Georgia formerly of Washington County entered eternal rest on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at St. Joseph Hospital in Savannah, Georgia.   Graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 11 a.m. from the Harrison City Cemetery, Landers Grove Road, Harrison, Georgia.  

Mr. Coney James Braddy was born August 19, 1944 in Harrison, Georgia.  He was the son of the late Jimmie Mae Robinson Braddy and the late Coney Braddy.

He was educated in the schools of Washington County.  He graduated from T.J. Elder High in 1964.  He joined the Navy after high school and served 5 years.  He worked at Washington Manufacturing Company in Tennille for 4 years.  He ventured to Savannah, Georgia and worked for the City of Savannah as a Police Officer for 35 years.  He retired as a Sergeant with the Savannah Police Department.  He served and retired in the Air National Guard.

He was married to Ms. Helen D. Braddy for 36 years.  With this union 3 children were born:  Jolliffee, Keino, and Nykeba Braddy.  The marriage ended in divorce after Coney left the family for Ms. Deborah Jordan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers:  Roosevelt Braddy and Warren London; sisters:  Matilda Jones, Leona Butts, Lyn Telfair, Mary and Lotie. 

Left to cherish his memories are Ms. Helen Braddy of Savannah, Georgia; two daughters:  Jolliffee T. Braddy Wright of Pooler, Georgia and Nykeba S. (Jeff) Braddy of McDonough, Georgia; two sons  Keino K. (Nicole) Braddy of Cummings, Georgia and Scottie Hagans of McDonough, Georgia; twelve grandchildren:  Petty Officer 3rd Class Kenneth Garrett Wright of US Navy), Zoe Helen Rose Braddy of Pooler, Georgia, Joshua Braddy, Jacob Braddy, Abel Musilu Braddy all of Cummings, Georgia, Mason and Amari Braddy McKinley of McDonough, Georgia, Jasmine Holmes of Wrightsville, Georgia, Brandy Jordan of Sandersville, Georgia, Valicia Cannida of Dublin, Georgia, Mahskyya Hagans of Pringle, Georgia and Minyata Jenkins of Sandersville, Georgia; one sister:  Corsetta Brown of Lagrange, Georgia; 6 great grandchildren: 3 sisters-in-law:  Dianne Dell, Gloria Cooper and Eleanor Dell all of Riddleville, Georgia; 3 brothers-in-law:  Willie Joe Dell, Roosevelt Dell, Jr. of Riddleville, Georgia and Alexander Cooper of Sandersville, Georgia; special nephews:  Albert (Jr.) Travett, Jerome, Ted, Willie Lee and Eddie; special nieces:  Retna, Toni,  Michelle, Diane, Agnes; special friend Deborah Jordan; special cousin Wilbert Kennedy along with many other nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
