Ms. Willie Kate Dixon departed her life on September 17, 2021 at the Washington County Regional Medical Center.  Graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 25,2021 at 1 p.m. in the Sandersville City Cemetery, Hall Street, Sandersville, Georgia.  She was born November 9, 1924 in Washington Count to the parentage of the late Mr. Isadore Burden, Sr. and Mrs. Alfonzo C. Burden.

Ms. Willie Kate Dixon, better known as “Ma”, was very loved by many.  In her early years, she worked in the fields.  She enjoyed making quilts, canning, and spending time with family and friends.  She would go on to raise many of whom she would call her own.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Isadore Burden, Sr. and Mrs. Alfonzo C. Burden; seven brothers:  Johnny Lee Burden, Willie Lee Burden, Tommy Lee Burden, Jimmy Lee Burden, Alexander Burden, Henry Burden, Isadore Burden, Jr.; two sisters:  Lillie Mae Burden, Lena Bell Carswell; six children:  Wille Mae Swint, Pearline Phillips, Vanilla Ann Dixon, Johnny Lee Dixon, Tommy Lee Dixon, Henry Lee Dixon and a devoted grandson Willia Earl Young.

Ms. Willie Kate leaves to cherish her memories two sons:  Ralph (Geneva) Dixon of Harrison, Georgia and Lonzie Lee (Lou) Dixon of Decatur, Georgia; two daughters:  Dorothy Mae Darrisaw of Sandersville, Georgia and Gloria Ann Irwin (her baby) of Sandersville, Georgia; a devoted granddaughter  Dorothy Jean Dixon; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.  She also help to raise six other children:  Nathaniel Johnson, Jason Johnson, Angela Johnson, Margret Johnson, Ray Johnson and Jennifer Johnson.

A special appreciate to Ms. Betty Coxwell from Nightgale Health Services for helping to care for Ma during her time of need.
