Mr. Wesley James, age 62, of Sandersville, Georgia departed this life on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at Select Medical Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at 3 p.m. at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will be in the Greater New Hope Baptist Church cemetery in Oconee, Georgia.
On November 4th, 1962, Wesley James was born to the parents of William James Sr. and Ira Jean Maze Swint in Sandersville GA.
He attended the public schools in Washington County High School and was a 1980 graduate. He served in the National Guard for 12 years and the U.S. Army for 3 years. He was a faithful and loyal employee at Verescence where he worked up till his passing.
Wesley was a hardworking man. He loved being around his family especially spending time with his kids, grandkids, and favorite uncle Bennie Frank James. He also loved fishing and wearing his cowboy hats and boots.
He was preceded in death by his parents William James Sr. and Ira Jean Maze Swint, siblings Mr. William James Jr. and Ms. Carol Jackson, and grandson Reginald Sanders Jr.
Wesley James is survived by his five (5) beautiful children Reginald Sanders of Tennille, GA, Twonida (Cary) Battle of Wrightsville, GA, Wesley (Isalia) James Jr. of Eatonton, GA, Lesley James of Davisboro, GA and NiEsha James of Augusta, GA; stepson Byron Hightower Jr; five (5) beautiful grandkids Amaruis Battle, Jalexia Daniels, Jaila Battle, Karter Sanders, and Carrion Smith; loving step-mother Lillie James of Sandersville, GA; four (4) siblings Linwood (LaShondra) Jordan, Howard (Monica) Swint Jr, Milton Maze, and Contrina Whitfield; six (6) uncles Bennie Frank James, Cleveland James, Walter James, Melvin James, Marshall James, and Bobby Maze; three (3) aunts Gloria (Edison Jr) Richardson, Dorothy Brown and Geraldine Wilcher; eight (8) devoted friends Earl James, Terry Miller, Tracy Walker, Joseph Evans, Paul Haynes, Ronnie Harris, Gregory Mack, Charles Bloodsaw, and Monterrious Kitchens and a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
