Tiara Kuwait Johnson

Tiara Kuwait Johnson departed this life on Friday, November 22, 2024 at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Modesto, California.  She was a beautiful and intelligent young lady.  She was born March 4, 1991 to Tammy Hilson and the late William Johnson.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 11 a.m. at St. James Christian Fellowship Church, 5875 Old Savannah Road, Tennille, Georgia.  Interment will be in the Brownwood Cemetery.  Rev. Manzie T. Broxton, II will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, December 6, 2024 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

At an early age, she joined St. Paul AME Church in Sandersville, Georgia.  After moving to Stockton, California, she attended Progressive Community Church in Stockton, California.

Tiara was a 2009 graduate of Washington County High School in Sandersville, Georgia, a 2013 graduate of Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor of  Science degree, a 2015 graduate of Georgia Southern University with a Master of Public Health, and  in June of 2023, she was accepted into Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health pursuing her Doctor of Public Health, Health Equity and Social Justice.  She also enjoyed traveling, planning family trips, visiting different restaurants, meeting new people, rec basketball, helping others, and  looked forward to her BFF Brittany Talbott visiting each year to attend the Bottom Rock Festival each year in May.

She was employed at the University of California San Franisco as a Trainer/Curriculum Writer in San Franisco.  She also worked at San Joaquin County Public Health Services as a Public Health Educator, and Sacramento County as a Health Program Coordinator.

She was preceded in death by her father:  William Johnson, grandmothers:  Dorothy Bay Hilson and Emma Johnson; grandfather, James Edward Hilson; aunt:  Charlye Dixon and uncles:  James Dixon, Willie J. Johnson, Roy Dean Johnson and Ricky Johnson.

Tiara leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Tammy Hilson; one  devoted aunt:  Bernice Easterling of Sandersville, GA; two aunts:  Jeanette Wilcher and Jennifer Johnson of Sandersville, GA; two uncles:  L.M. (Vivian) Pierce and John Wynn of Sandersville, GA; two devoted cousins:  Amory T. Shay Evans of Sandersville, GA and Shabreka (David) Garrett of Dallas, TX; five cousins:  India Jackson, Ebony (Charles) Poole, Latrell Holmes, Kadeem Johnson of Sandersville, GA, Terricka Easterling of Grovetown, GA; eight god sons:  Kameron Reese, Drew Adams, Amir Thompson, Kelvion Johnson and Meciah Hilson of Sandersville, GA, Demarcus Cobb, Jr., Maurice Carter and Nova Carter of Stockton, CA; one special great aunt:  Almerita Braswell of Sandersville, GA; two bonus aunts:  Denise (Ben) Brown of Sandersville, GA and Dynetta (Thedore) Worthen of New Jersey; eight devoted friends:  Brittany Talbott, Calvin Roberson of Atlanta, GA, Courtney Buck of McDonough, GA, Megan Hilson/cousin, Callia Seals, Brittany Thompson, Manzie (Ashley) Broxton/cousin of Sandersville, GA; Ashley (Raymond) Williams of Stockton, CA and a host of aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.
