Simon Lee Minor, Sr.

Mr. Simon Lee Minor entered eternal rest on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at his residence in Hephzibah, Georgia.  Graveside service will be held on Friday, April 15, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Holly Spring Baptist Church cemetery in Warthen, Georgia.

Simon was born July 28, 1954, to the parentage of the late Mary Hall Minor and Hollyfield (Irene) Minor.   He was raised by his Ma and Pa, the late Mr. and Ms. Lonnie and Lula Minor. He attended Washington County School Systems, Class of 1973. He retired from Savannah River Site after 36 years of service.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, shooting pool, karate, and more so, his dogs.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his 5 children, Sonya Herron, Savannah, GA; Janice Jackson Harper, Tennille, GA; Simon Minor, Jr, Connecticut; and Jessica Minor Haynes, Hephzibah, GA. His siblings Harold Minor, Macon, GA; Twiggs (Diane) Minor, Eastman, GA; Grady (Connie) Minor, Hephzibah, GA. Sisters Kathy Minor, Sandy Spring, Atlanta, GA; Bobbie Minor and Gladys (Calvin) Dixon, both of Louisville, GA. Devoted Friend, Delores Baldwin, Hephzibah, GA. Grandchildren CharQuaveiun Bloodsaw, Leo T. Watts, Jamiyah Herron, Jacquez Harper, A’necya Haynes, Joseph Haynes, Jr, Josiah Haynes, and Faith Minor. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday at the funeral home from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
