Shelton Rae Gordon, Sr. entered eternal rest on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Washington County Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 12 noon in the Clara-Minnie Memorial Chapel of L.M. Pierce Funeral Home. Interment will be in the New Gardners Church of God in Christ cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, June 13, 2025 from 12 noon to 6 p.m.
Shelton Rae Gordon Sr. was born August 24, 1952, to the late Eunice Pierce in Thomasville, GA. He graduated in 1970 from T.J. Elder High School in Sandersville, GA. In 1974, he married his high school sweetheart Brenda Daniel. Rae joined 3M Company in 1978 where he worked until his retirement. He was also longtime a member of the Freemasons and took great pride in upholding their values of brotherhood and charity.
A lover of cars, music, sports and Westerns, you would often find him working on a vehicle, catching an episode of Gunsmoke or The Rifleman, or watching whatever sports he could catch on TV. And whether it was a van, motorcycle, or car, he made sure he had a sound system to play his favorite songs.
Known for his big heart, Rae would give his time, knowledge, or a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Bigger than his giving heart was his love for his siblings, kids, and grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his mother Eunice Pierce, stepfather Edward Pierce Sr, brother Edward(Bootman) Pierce Jr, beloved grandmother Lila Bryant, grandfather Shelton Bryant, mother-in law Catherine Daniel, sister-in laws Wanda Daniel Casimir and Mary Eartha Daniel Clark.
Rae leaves to cherish his memory his wife Brenda; children Erica(Chris) Roberts, Cassandra(David) Rias, Shelton(Avia) Gordon Jr., Alexandria Gordon, Schgathan(Sharon) Carmichael, and Dleigh Gordon; grandchildren Kaylup Roberts, Kennedy Roberts, Christopher Roberts, Katelyn Roberts, Keundre Rias, Jaden Rias, Cheyenne Rias, Nyla Gordon, Nevada Gordon, Ke’miya Gordon, Alayah Carmichael; siblings Carol(Keith) Abraham, Kay(Clinton) Darrisaw, Lila(Ernest) Johnson, Dwight Pierce, and Tarron(James) Brandon; brother-in-law Patrick(Deanna) Daniel and a host of nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.
