Ricky Cooper

Mr. Ricky "Pop" Cooper  passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021 at Washington County Regional Medical Center.  Graveside services will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 1 p.m. at New Baptist Church, Sandersville, Georgia.  Rev. Johnny Ray Sampson officiating.

He was born to the parentage of the late Sam (Sammie) Cooper and the late Mary Lizzie Cooper in Augusta, GA.

Ricky attended the public schools of Washington County.  He was a truck driver for 38 years.  He was employed by Blackhawk Transport, Inc.  Ricky enjoyed spending time with family-friends, watching movies, and driving fast cars, motorcycles and trucks.

He was preceded in death by four brothers:  Willie Albert Cooper, Ronald Cooper, Tommy Cooper, and Jerome Cooper.

He was married to Sharon Cooper.  Ricky leaves to cherish his memories five sons:  Ricky ShaRod Cooper, Rikardo ShaRodrick Cooper, Christopher Jonta Cooper, Ricktavious Davonta Cooper and Deontinee Dent; three grandchildren  Sy’Ria Cooper, Ashton Bolston, and Nova Joy Cooper; one brother:  Bobby (Leketha) Cooper; one sister:  Connie (Arthur) Henderson; father-in-law:  Lee Arthur (Mordean); sister-in-law:  Tiffany (Paul) Peltier; nine nieces and nephews; devoted friends:  Michael Bolstic , Helen (Will) Hicks and David May.
