Mrs. Ollie Butts, 91, entered peaceful sleep of eternal rest on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at the University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. Funeral services held on Friday, November 27, 2015 at St. James Christian Fellowship Church in Tennille, Georgia with Rev. Mack Jackson officiating. Interment in the Union Hill Baptist Church cemetery.
Mrs. Butts was born in Wrightsville, Georgia on September 21, 1924 to William Dave Wilson and Nellie Wilson. Mrs. Ollie met and married the late Eddie Butts, Sr. and from this union they were blessed with eight children. She was a dedicated loving wife and mother. She loved fishing and gardening, which brought great joy to her life.
Mrs. Ollie was preceded in death by Joyce G. Davis, Eleanor Butts and Genevieve Butts Elliot.
Mrs. Ollie leaves to cherish her memory, one son Eddie M. Butts, Jr. and four daughters: Susan B. Haynes, Linda (Daniel) Andrews, Althea Walker and Darlene Hannah; thirteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
