Mary Joyce Wadley

Mary Joyce Wadley passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at Navient Health Hospital in Macon, Georgia. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 12 noon at Marshall Grove Missionary Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.  Mary was born November 7, 1950 in Sandersville, Georgia to the late Mr. Harvey Wadley, Sr. and Bessie Gilmore Wadley.

Mary Joyce graduated from T.J. Elder High School in Sandersville, Georgia, in 1968. She went on to become a dedicated worker for the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, both locally and nationally. She also worked in the clothing industry, environmental services, and customer service. Mary was a vital and cherished member of her community and a proud, faithful member of the Marshall Grove Missionary Baptist Church for many years. She was a loving and caring person who cherished her family and was a friend to many.

Mary Joyce was preceded in death by her parents: Harvey Wadley, Sr. and Bessie Gilmore Wadley; two brothers: James Poole and Robert Poole, Sr.; one sister-in-law, Francis Wadley; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mary Joyce leaves to cherish her memory one son and daughter-in-law, Mr. Mario and Latasha Wadley of Tennille, Georgia; two brothers: Mr. Harvey Wadley, Jr. and Mr. Alphonso Wadley both of Sandersville, Georgia; one sister: Mrs. Denise Seals of Tennille, Georgia; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
