Mary Louise Travet of Harrison, Georgia entered into eternal rest on April 13, 2026, at the Extended Care Facility of Washington County, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories with all who knew her. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at Springfield Fellowship Church at 1 p.m. with interment in the Harrison City Cemetery.
Mary Louise Travet was born on September 7, 1942. Mary was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Christine and Jessie Taylor, along with several siblings who welcomed her home. She was a committed and faithful member of Springfield Fellowship, serving under the leadership of Pastor Victor Cuyler, where her faith was a guiding light in her life. She was united in marriage to her devoted husband, Albert Travet, with whom she shared 63 years of love, commitment, and partnership. Their union was a true testament to enduring love, and they would have celebrated 64 years of marriage on July 28th. Mary was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children: Alfonso Travet (Delinda) and Evette Michelle Stokes (Charlie); and one stepdaughter, Lena Jackson, whom she loved as her own. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Shundrekia Whitmore (TS), Shanesse Sanford, Tarnisha Travet, La’Toya Dozier, Lamar Dozier, Reginald Pierce Jr. (Jade), and Jaylen Stokes. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Payten Primus, Jaxon Dozier, Zoe Dallas, Kennedi Watts, Braxton Hines, Dakota Travet, Navy Darrisaw, Yan-Pierre Parrilla Jr. and Caden Gibbons. Mary is survived by her loving sisters: Caroline Burst (JD), Betty Chain (Willie Chain), and Gladys Brown; and three brothers-in-law: Thomas L. (Betty) Telfair, William Lee (LaTonya) Telfair and Edward (Lisa) Love. Mary Louise Travet will be remembered for her deep love of family, her unwavering strength, and the lasting impact she made on everyone blessed to know her. She was also beloved by the “Hooks” family, a role she carried with joy, love, and togetherness. She was also loved by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
