God welcomed Mary Elizabeth McQueen into His arms on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Southland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Dublin, Georgia. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Springfield Missionary Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with interment in the Sandersville City Cemetery. Mary Elizabeth McQueen was born in Sandersville, Georgia on December 6, 1942 to the late Ruby Jackson and Love McQueen. She joined the Springfield Baptist Church at an early age; later in life she joined the Highland Park Church. She loved the Lord and encouraged her family to believe and trust in God. She was a faithful member. Mary Elizabeth was educated in Washington County school system. She was the first African American female to own her own business (Mind Blower Music Shop) in Washington County. She was employed and retired from Central State Hospital. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Jackson, her father, Love McQueen, grandparents, Elizabeth and Dock McDonald and a son, CarMichael McDonald. Mary Elizabeth will be forever remembered by her loving childen: Hellen McDonald, Bobby (Amita) McDonald, and Stacey (Katheryn) Hunt; devoted daughter-in-law: Brenda McDonald; seven grandchildren: Chaquita Brooks, Brandon McDonald, Lastavious Hunt, Nakedra Hunt, Myesha Nicole Hunt, Rackera Folsom-Wright and Candice McDonald; extended family, Dianne Gonder, Bridgett Gonder, Barbara Davis, and Carol Crawford; a special friend and Pastor, Dan (Teri) James; host of great grandchildren, cousins, and other relatives.
