Mr. Mario Derrell Wadley transitioned on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 in Clara-Minnie Memorial Chapel at L.M. Pierce Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Marshall Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
He was born on July 9, 1982, to the late Mary Wadley and the late Marion Hodges, Sr.
Mario was a devoted husband, proud stepfather, and cherished grandfather. He deeply loved his family and took great pride in being a father figure to three children and a grandfather to six beloved grandchildren.
He attended the public schools of Washington County and was a graduate of Washington County High School. At the time of his passing, he was employed with Fowler Flemister Concrete, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication.
Mario leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving wife of five years, Latasha Wadley, whom he adored; two sons, Jonkeius Daniel and Brandon Johnson; one daughter, Derriny Johnson; and six grandchildren: three granddaughters, Skylar, Ava, and Julia, and three grandsons, Nick, Nolan, and Aiden. He is also survived by one brother, Marion Hodges, Jr.; one aunt, Denise Seals; several great-aunts; three uncles, Harvey Wadley, Alphonso Wadley, and Donald (Rose) Hodges; his mother-in-law, Leisa (Willie) Scott; his father-in-law, Earnest (Barbara) Brown; and two sisters-in-law, Donna Burnett and Marguerite Brown.
In addition, Mario leaves behind his devoted trucking brothers, Jeffery Wright, Jessie Roberson, Jr., Katorris Edmon, Jermaine Walker, Jr., and Gilmore, whose friendship and brotherhood meant so much to him.
Mario's legacy of love, kindness, family, and friendship will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Along with his many cousins and friends, he leaves behind countless cherished memories that will forever be treasured by those whose lives he touched.
