Manus Pierce, a cherished pillar of strength, love, and wisdom, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025, in Boston, MA, at the age of 76. Born on September 7, 1948, in Tennille, Georgia.   Manus was the son of the late David and Lillie Ruth Pierce. He grew up surrounded by the warmth of a large and loving family, including his siblings Oretha Pierce (Eddie), Lillie Mae Duckworth (Apostle Clifford Duckworth), Ida Lee Daniels, Geneva Gregory, Richard Pierce, Lennard Pierce, and the late Lucille Pierce and Gladys Adams. Sisters in law Sallie Jones of Hyde Park, MA. and Alberta Jones of Dorchester, MA.

Manus was the beloved husband of Dorothy Pierce, with whom he shared a life full of joy and mutual support. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Pamela Lindsay and her husband Harold White of South Easton MA., and Manus "Christopher" Brown of Manville, Rhode Island. Manus's legacy continued with his adoring grandchildren, Makayla White (Kayla Pooh), David White (David Pooh), and Marquis White, who will forever cherish the memories of their grandfather's love and guidance. He spoke often of the times he spent with nieces Nikki (Nikki Pooh) and Janiya (Janiya Pooh). All those who had “Pooh” attached to their name had a very special place in his heart as well as all his nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Manus embarked on a career that would define much of his life's work. He became a respected heavy equipment operator with Union Local 4 in construction. His colleagues knew him as a man of great integrity and skill, whose contributions to numerous projects left a lasting impact on the community.

Since 1990, Manus had been a proud resident of Stoughton, where he was well-known not only for his professional expertise but also for his personal passions. An avid fisherman, he found solace and joy in the quiet moments by the water, rod in hand, waiting for the next big catch. Manus was also a talented handyman, with a remarkable ability to fix anything. His family and friends often marveled at how he could turn his hand to repair cars, mend household items, and tackle any challenge with a calm demeanor and a smile.

Manus's love for working on cars and around the house was matched only by the love he had for his family. He was a man who valued the simple things in life: a well-told story, the laughter of his grandchildren, and the companionship of his loved ones. His wisdom, humor, and kindness left a deep imprint on the hearts of those who knew him.As we bid farewell to Manus Pierce, we remember a man of extraordinary character. He was a beacon of light in the lives of his family and friends, and his memory will continue to inspire and guide us. Manus's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, hard work, and dedication. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.A graveside service will take place on Monday, August 11th, at noon, at Knollwood Memorial Park.
