On Monday, August 27, 2018, Mr. Mack Mountain, Sr. departed his earthly life at the University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Pine Hill Baptist Church in Davisboro, Georgia at 1 p.m. with interment in the church cemetery. Elder Jessie Mountain will officiate. Mr. Mack Mountain, Sr. was born March 10, 1926 in Washington County, Georgia to the late Mr. David Mountain and the late Mrs. MaeBell Sampson Mountain. He was a faithful deacon at the Pine Hill Baptist Church in Davisboro, Georgia. He was also a member of Elisha Lodge #194 for over 50 years. He worked at Lapp Insulator for several years. In his later years, he used his skills to operate a lawn mower repair business. Mr. Mountain was united in holy matrimony to the late Almarine Taylor Mountain for 48 years and to this union they were blessed with eight devoted children. One daughter, Dr. Linda Diann Mountain Tillman, a grandson, Jeffery Mountain, a son-in-law, Wayne Williams, Sr., several sisters and brothers preceded him in death. He leaves seven children to cherish his memories: Mack Mountain, Jr. (Christine) of Macon, Georgia, Jimmie Mountain (Karen) of Swainsboro, Georgia, Willie Pearl Williams of Baltimore, Maryland, Minnie Williamson (Felix) of Ellaville, Georgia, Ann Harris of Milledgeville, Georgia, Catherine Grant (Rudy) of Sandersville, Georgia and Joe Louis Mountain of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is also survived by 12 devoted grandchildren: Demetrius Mountain, Andre Mountain, Lafonia Lawrence, Wayne Williams, Jr., Kareeshemah Lamar, Derrick Cato, Dr. Christy Mountain-Bonner, Mikki Glekiah, Dechandra Cato, Kamia Glasco, Kayanna Tolliver, and Sarandon Tillman, eighteen (18) great grandchildren, and one (1) great great grandchild; two (2) siblings: Mrs. Hyman Moore and Mrs. Daisy Chapman of Savannah, Georgia; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Mrs. Rosie Dell of Savannah, Georgia; Mrs. Christine Curry, Mrs. Louise Taylor, Mrs. Bobbie Jean Taylor, Mrs. Eleva Taylor, Mr. Henton Taylor, Mr. Theodore Taylor or Riddleville, Georgia; Mrs. Juanita Logan of Sandersville, Georgia; Mrs. Jeraldine Tarver of Bartow, Georgia; and a host of devoted cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
