Mr. Linsey "Shot" Asberry, formerly of Sandersville, entered eternal rest on Sunday, April 13, 2025, in Newark, New Jersey. Graveside service will be held at Marshall Grove Baptist Church Cemetery at 1 p.m.
He was born May 27, 1951 to the parentage of the late Daisy Cullen Asberry and Robert “Jake” Asberry in Sandersville, Georgia.
Linsey better known as “Shot” was a beloved brother, father, granddad, uncle and friend.
Linsey went to school at T.J. Elementary and later attended Washington County High School where he was a drum major. He would lead the band in the parade and showed his stuff. He loved being a drum major. After graduating, Linsey moved to Newark, New Jersey where the rest of his siblings lived.
He was preceded in death by the following siblings: Lucille Asberry, Hubert Asberry, Otis Asberry, Frank Asberry, Christine Stubbs and Jennie Stubbs.
Linsey got a job working for Fine & Tastey Meats where he retired in 2008. Shot took walking as a hobby and enjoyed being retired.
Linsey leaves to cherish his memories one daughter, Malika Asberry Manning, two grandsons: Tishawn and Dashawn Manning; one great grand daughter, Skylah M. Manning all of Virginia; three brothers: Robert (Naomi) Asberry, Leroy Stubbs of New Jersey, Raymond (Yvonne) Foster of Sandersville, GA; one sister: Evelyn Foster of Tennille, GA; one uncle: Mr. Willie Fred Barnes of Sandersville, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, family and friends.
