Lester May transitioned on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Washington County Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at 2 p.m. in the Clara-Minnie Memorial Chapel inside L.M. Pierce Funeral Home with interment in the Sandersville City Cemetery.
Born on June 27, 1951, in Washington County, he was the son of Charlie May and Mary Frances May.
Lester became a member of Robin Spring Baptist Church at a young age and attended public school in Washington County. He spent many years working as a concrete worker for the Howard Shepherd Company and also worked with others in the field.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charlie May, Jr. and Willie Lee Goolsby; and one sister, Dorothy J. Armstrong.
Cherishing his memory are his daughter, Michelle Reynolds of Davisboro, Georgia; three sisters, Clemmie (Lewis) Scott of Evanston, Illinois, Patricia A. May of Sandersville, Georgia, and Joyce (Royce) Reeves of Sandersville, Georgia; one brother, Ronnie (Mary Ann) May of Sandersville, Georgia; his uncle, Alvin Cuyler of Macon, Georgia; a devoted friend, several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
