Mr. Leroy Adams, age 76, formerly of Tennille, Georgia,  passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Green Acres Health and Rehabilitation Center in Milledgeville, Georgia.  Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Clara-Minnie Memorial Chapel of L.M. Pierce Funeral Home.

Leroy Adams born to the late Levi May and Vondell Evans began his journey of life on September 1, 1948.  He was preceded in death by his sisters, Patricia Adams, Elnora Pugh and Margaret Roberts; brothers:  Lamar “Toot” Evans and Herbert Adams; and his son Tashomba Ball.

Leroy was affectionately known as Roy.  He was educated in the Washington County school system.  He would later move to Miami, Florida where he spent many years in the construction industry where he helped to build many beautiful landmarks in Miami, Florida.  He was a devoted family man that loved his family, especially his children.  He didn’t know a stranger and would help anyone he could.

In 1980 he would meet and later marry the love of his life, Laletha Mae, who preceded him in death in January of 2013.

Roy was known as a very  funny character; he was very outspoken.  He would command the room when he walked in dressed to the “T” with his god father hats, three piece suits and his shinny Stacey Adams shoes;  never letting a moment go by without pausing to do one of his famous James Brown moves and any more that he would act to them.  He lived life to its fullest.

He transitioned on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Green Acres Health and Rehabilitation in Milledgeville, Georgia.  He leaves to cherish his memories daughters:  Valarie Vega (Alan) of Miami, Florida, Mary Hart (Gary Sr.), Lorraine Curry (the late  Robert), Sherika Ward (Deron), Vanlesha Lawson (Willie), Latoya Green (Benjamin III) and Symone Scott; siblings:  Marie Barnett, Herman Adams (Ruby), Erma Byrd, LeArtis Evans (Hazel), Alphonzo Evans (Angela), Robert Brown and Cynthia Evans; god daughter, Katrina Baker; two devoted nieces:  Cheryl Stephens and Jaqueline Brown Everett; two devoted friends:  John Carlos and Kenneth Price; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
