Mr. Ernest Lee Wimbley, Sr.

Mr. Ernest L. Wimbley Sr. was called from labor to reward on September 26, 2017 at Washington County Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Georgia Grove Missionary Baptist Church with interment in the Rest Haven Cemetery. Rev. W. Roy Grissom will officiate. Mr. Ernest L. Wimbley Sr. was born in Washington County Georgia on September 7, 1943. He joined the Georgia Grove Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He was an ordained Deacon of the Georgia Grove Baptist Church. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and church family. His memories will be forever cherished by his wife of 51 years Mattlyn; son: Ernest Jr; daughter: Faye Dixon; one adopted son: Stevie (Cynthia) Williams of Baldwin County; one adopted daughter: Deloise (Felton) Collins of Sandersville, Georgia; mother-in-law: Elouise C. Burney of Tennille, Georgia; brothers: Roger Wimbley, Willie Louis Wimbley, and Willie Freshly; sisters: Mamie Hicks, Mamie Scott, Mary Wiley and Brenda Freshly; sisters-in-law: Evangelist Louise (Matthew) Roberson, Janice Anderson, Mary Renfroe, Peggy Purdy; brothers-in-law: Matthew Roberson, Rickey Wiley, Harold Hicks, Michael Renfroe, Alton Renfroe; special friend: Deacon McKinley Collins; special caregiver: Deacon Kenneth Daniels; grandchildren, host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
