Mrs. Edith V. Cornish

Mrs. Edith V. Cornish at 75 years of age quietly and peaceful departed this life on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the Carrollwood Care Nursing Home in Tampa, Florida after a brief illness. Viewing and visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at Poplar Spring Baptist Church with interment immediately following in the church cemetery. Edith was born February 21, 1943 in Sandersville, Georgia to the late Lindsey and Eva Hodges. She received her formal education in the public school system later graduating with honors. Edith eventually migrated to Philadelphia and found gainful employment with the Philadelphia Gas Works. Because of her dedication and commitment, she was quickly promoted supervisor for several different facilities and locations. After serving in this capacity for many years she retired to enjoy her interest in life. Edith was spiritual and had a wonderful personality. She also had a great sense of humor. Edith was a joy to be around; her smile would light up a room. She will be missed by all who were blessed to come in contact with her. Edith leaves to cherish her many fond memories a host of family members, friends and co-workers.
