Dyamond Richard Swint was born on October 26,1936, to the late Bradford and Annie Bell Swint. He was the 9th of 14 children. He was raised in Sandersville, Georgia and received his education through the Washington County School System.
At a young age, Dyamond accepted Jesus Christ and joined the Swint Spring Missionary Baptist Church. As a young man, he relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he met and married his beloved late wife, Elsie, who preceded him in death. Together they raised eight children in love, faith, and discipline. Dyamond was a proud husband and father who valued family above all else.
Dyamond joined Faith Tabernacle Church of the Living God under the leadership of Bishop Lilian Ward. He moved with her and her congregation to Camden, New Jersey, where he was a devoted member strengthening his lifelong walk of faith. Under her leadership, he faithfully served as a deacon, trustee, and driver for the church bus. His dedication to the ministry and to Bishop Ward spanned more than 40 years.
He developed a deep passion for cars, which led him into a fulfilling career in auto mechanics. His love for mechanics, innovation, and problem-solving became a legacy he proudly passed down to his sons and nephews, inspiring the next generation to follow in his footsteps.
Dyamond was preceded in death by four of his children: Tamela, Paul, David, and Rodney Swint; his first wife: Elsie Swint, his second wife, Carol Swint; grandchildren Dante, Paul, and Sean; and his thirteen siblings.
He leaves to cherish his memory his surviving children: Richard Swint, Pamela Swint, Keith (Cherrill) Swint, and Kevin (Marlisa) Swint; daughter-in-law Tahanna Swint; sisters-in-laws Pauline Bryant, Lanette Williams, Sally Swint and Joan Swint; brother-in-laws Edward Dudley, Clarence Story and Charles Story; along with 27 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; extended family, and many friends who loved him dearly.
He was deeply respected by his church and community. Though he is gone from this earthly life, his spirit, teachings, and love will continue to live through his children and all who were blessed to know him.
