Curtis Maze

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8

On Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at the Washington County Extended Care Facility, an angel whispered in his ear and said dear child come with me and take your rest.  Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Green Grove Baptist Church.  Interment will be in the Sandersville City Cemetery.

Mr. Curtis Maze was born February 14, 1940 in Washington County to the late Albert Maze and Katie Bell Mays Maze. He was proceeded in death by three brothers, Richard M Maze, Albert Maze, and Willie Albert Maze and three sisters, Shirley Davis, Jessie Mae Griner, and JoeAnn Thompson.

Mr. Maze grew up in Washington County and attended the public schools. He enjoyed visiting his sisters and working with brother J.C. Maze. Curtisenjoyed working as a carpenter, watching fooball, sitting on the porch, watching martial arts, laughing, sending his love ones to the store sometimesdaily. Curtis’s favorite restaurants were McDonalds, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Subway. He especially enjoyed home cooked meals by his sisters and family members. To know him was to love him. He wasn’t a stranger; if Curtis said something he meant exactly what he said. He attended Green Grove Baptist Church until his health declined. He enjoyed taking a ride with his baby brother J.C. Curtis will truly be missed.

Curtis leaves to cherish his memories four sisters: Iola Latimer, Edna Daniels, Katie Bell Maze and Glenda Smith and one brother, J.C. (Daisy) Maze, all of Sandersville, Georgia. Also to cherish his memories, he leaves a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
