Mrs. Brinda Taylor Dancy, age 77, peacefully departed this life on Monday, June 29, 2026, at her home. She was born on May 11, 1949, in Washington County, Georgia, to the late Theresa Brookings Taylor and Herman Taylor.
Brinda was raised in a loving Christian home and grew up attending Robin Spring Baptist Church, where she experienced firsthand the joys and blessings of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As an adult, she continued her walk of faith as a devoted member of New Macedonia Baptist Church in Riverdale, Georgia.
She received her education in the Washington County School System, attending T.J. Elder Primary School and T.J. Elder Middle and High School, where she graduated with the Class of 1968. She later continued her education by attending Albany State College.
Brinda enjoyed a long and successful career with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), where she faithfully served for 39 years and 10 months before retiring. She was known for her strong work ethic, dedication, and commitment to excellence.
She was preceded in death by her parents and several brothers and sisters.
Left to cherish her loving memory are her devoted siblings: Herbert Taylor, Sr., Jackie Taylor(Shirley), Sr., Donald Taylor (Kathleen), Randy Barnes, Alex Marion, Elijah Marion, and her beloved twin sister, Linda Hagans. Sister-in-law Rae Taylor. She also leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Brinda had a kind and gentle spirit, a deep love for her family, and an unwavering faith in God. She also had a special place in her heart for her beloved cats, Blazer, Raven, and Sadie, who brought her much joy and companionship. She dearly loved the cats that preceded her in death and often spoke of the happiness they brought to her life.
Though she has departed this earthly life, her legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
