Bobby Owens

Bobby Owens, age 68, entered eternal rest on Monday, February 10, 2025 in Savannah, Georgia.  Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Pine Grove AME Church, 588 Donovan Road, Wrightsville, Georgia at 11:00 a.m.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at funeral home from 12 to 6 p.m.

He was born September 6, 1956 in Donovan, Georgia at Johnson County to the late Reverend Robert Owens, Sr. and Doretha Sampson Owens.  At an early age, he joined Pine Grove AME Church.

He attended Washington County High School, graduating in the class of 1974.  After high school he enlisted in the US Army where he served his country faithfully for 24 years, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant.  He also obtained his Associate degree in Business from Saint Leo University.

Bobby is survived by his daughters, Faye Owens and  Nicole Owens of Savannah, Georgia; grandson: Anwar Abdullah; granddaughters, Sarah Grace Owens, Maya Harkness; great granddaughter:  Aaliyah Abdullah; mother:  Doretha Sampson Owens of Tennille, Georgia; brothers and sisters:  Robert (Waykeshia) Owens, Jr. of Tennille, Georgia, James (Joanne) Owens of Sandersville, Georgia, Lorianne (Marion) Swint of Tennille, Georgia, Johnny (Sadiah) Owens of Warner Robins, Georgia, Quinton Owens of Byron, Georgia, Michael (Shirley)  Owens of Savannah, Georgia, Sheryl Owens and Ellen Owens of Tennille, Georgia, Eric and Roberta Owens of Copperas Cove, Texas; uncles and aunts:  Bishop Richard and Janie Sampson of Decatur, Georgia, Earnest and Mary Sampson of Dublin, Georgia, Henry Sampson of Pensacola, Florida, Martha Abney of Pensacola, Florida, Mary D. Thomas of Tennille, Georgia, Tennille, Georgia, Linda Brown of Tennille, Georgia, Marilyn Maddox of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Helen Raines and Emma D.
